My mother has been having trouble with one leg, it has been ahppening for quite a long time now, the pain leaves and eventually it'll return...It swells up and is noticeable, her leg gets red, and really hard to the touch I've been searching online and have found similar topics and due to all the symptoms and the way it all looks we are starting to believe she might have a clogged vein or so...By the tway her pressure gets bad when this happens to her leg, by touching around where it swells up she has a vein and seems to "pound" when pressure is put to it...What are the solutions or procedures that a doctor would go through in order to get rid of this if a vein is clogged? I read about injections or even amputation which i hope is not the case =/ please answer if you can it means alot right now
Solutions for a clogged vein?
First and most important, get your mother to a doctor ASAP!!
It could be a blood clot or possibly peripheral vascular disease. Either way, she needs to be checked. Don't let it get too far where amputation is her only option. I have worked in a hospital for 15 years and have seen this happen many times. Again, most importantly--see a doctor.
