Nose is clogged....?
I would use a nose spray but for no longer than 3 days. Also, take an over the counter decongestant like Sudafed Non-Drying.
Reply:Take Clarinase, it's a non-drowsy formula.
Reply:Take a over the counter decongestant.
Reply:You have a sinus infection. If something over the counter doesn't help, ask your doctor for a RX antibiotic called a Z-Pack(Zithromax). They make a generic now, forgot the name, but works the same as name brand and costs about $23. It's great for respiratory infections and works for me everytime. Take 2 tablets the first day, then one a day for the next 4 days. Feel better...
Reply:You can try over the counter cold medicine; you could also be suffering from some kind of allergy. It would be better if you consult this problem to an EENT (eye, ear, nose, throat) Doctor who specializes in that field (if this problem persists for a long time already).
Reply:When you're older, a couple of shots of Chevis Scotch is a nice de-clogger. If it doesn't work for that, at least it eases the pain.
Reply:I would try ocean nose drops or even take a dip in the ocean if you are near the beach. If you think that you are getting a cold then you should make yourself some fresh ginger tea.
Reply:I really like the answer from the nurse who thinks she can diagnose you from what you've said.

It is POSSIBLE that you have a sinus infection, but I don't think she can say definitively that "You have a sinus infection". And, apparently, she comes from the school of thought that whatever ails you can be cured by throwing antibiotics at it. That's not always the best bet. If you do indeed have a sinus infection, then antibiotics like Zithromax would probably help. However, if you didn't take the antibiotics, you would most likely get better anyway, although it may take a little longer. Throwing antibiotics at every sniffle that comes into the doctor's office is how we managed to breed antibiotic-resistant bacteria like VRE and MRSA.

Some more definitive questions for you: Are you running a fever? Do you have yellow/greenish discharge from your nose? If you answer yes to either/both of these questions, then I would be more inclined to suggest that you MAY have a sinus infection.
Reply:Horseradish, just a touch on tounge, will start to clear you up quickly. if your bold enough 1/2 teaspoon.
Reply:mucinex - it's over the counter,( wal-mart ) I have had great results with it. Good luck.
Reply:You can do a nasal wash - dissolve kosher salt (it's less harsh) in warm water to make a light saline solution. Hang your head over a sink and gently pour the solution into one nostril, forcing it out of the other nostril by forcing air through system. Repeat same procedure from other nostril. Clears passage ways, sinuses, head... takes a bit of practice, so don't throw in the towel if it doesn't work right away.

You can also try a dab of Vicks around the clogged nostril, or rub on your chest for vicks fumes to rise up.
