Clogged / blocked nostril?

Okay so..im going to say more than 6 months..ive noticed my left nostril has been clogging up %26amp; blocking. i sleep on my left side on my stomach and face my head to the right..which means that my left nostril is against the pillow being pushed whichever way it is. this is the only way i can sleep. if i switch to my right side, my left nostril becomes blocked and i cant breathe out of it. and randomly these past few months ive been having to adjust my nose manually with my hands around to make it easier for me to breathe (..like i push my nose kind of up and around so my left nostril can open up)... i went about a week ago to get my jaw checked (diff. problem) and the doctor said somethings wrong with my nose..%26amp; i said yea. %26amp; ..he didnt do anything about it. lol. so. should i just go straight to the doctor about this? also i try to blow my nose to clear it but i dont have a cold %26amp; no mucus or anything. it sometimes is unblocked but randomly it blocks and i gotta adjust my nose to breathe

Clogged / blocked nostril?
You must have allergies , a sinus problem or ear infection. Maybe a deviated septum.

Go to an ENT MD. Drink lots of water, tea.

Try going into a steamy bathroom %26amp; see if that relieves the clog.

Try using nasal saline spray 3X/day. Take Vit C 1000mg 3X/day...it acts as a decongestant.

Hope you feel better
Reply:put some a535 up your nose

or try putting some vinegar in there.

Clogged arteries?

I'm 20 %26amp; I eat awfully...Too much chocolate. I'm afraid I'm going to get clogged arteries...or something else bad. I promise I'm going to stop eating so bad. I excersize moderately...(walking with my dog %26amp; occasionally working out in a gym)...If I change my eating ways now do I still have time to save myself!? I'm almost 21. 5'6 145 lbs.

Serious Answers Only!

Clogged arteries?
Yes, you will benefit the most the earlier you start exercising, therefore you shouldn't waist anymore time and get to it. Also exercising gives you more energy and makes you feel alot better, its never too late.
Reply:Yes, you have time to save yourself. You're still very young. I'm 21 next month, I'm pretty much your age.

But you have to be aware that its a lifestyle change, and its something that has to be PERMANENT.

Also, you have to be accountable to yourself. You say "I promise I'm going to stop eating so bad." Why are you promising US? A bunch of ppl on the internet you've never met? Make that promise to YOURSELF. Its YOUR *** on the line, nobody else's. You can absolutely be healthier, just take control of yourself and stay focused on it, and accept the reality that its a permanent change. easier said than done, but there's no reason you can't do it. The challenge is all in your head.

Also, be straightforward with yourself. Walking your dog and occasionally making an appearance at the gym is not moderate exercise. Its an excuse that you use to make yourself feel better. Get on an actual exercise plan and stick to it like glue. Try running (www.runnersworld.com), weightlifting (www.bodybuilding.com) for workout schedules.
Reply:excercise makes you feel younger and better. not saying your old since your almost 21 but still. I'm 17 and I feel 8 years old after excercising. its a great feeling

though I don't know what any of what I just said has to do with your question but I hope it helps you get started.

Clogged pores and dry skin?
What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

http://www.17acnetreatments.com

P.S. I also know someone who used to suffer from severe acne for 14 YEARS and finally got rid of it completely. She's sharing her story at her site:

Maybe you could learn from her inspirational story

.
Reply:I use neutrogena ance cream it doesn't dry out the skin and gets rid of the bumps then I use termenator 10 spot treament for the whiteheads. I wouldn't use the cleaning pads at work cause they might dry your skin out more. Try to get those blue oil pad things that get the oil off your face they won't dy out your skin but get rid of the oil.

Reply:i have had acne for sometime,

this reg. works well you have to sick to it though and your skin will feel amazing and look amazing too. pour some baking soda on the counter(dry) wet your finger and rub into your face. this will exfoliate. then rub honey on your face, let it sit for like 10 minutes. i put it on just before i shower and before i get out i wash it off. SOAP IS NOT GOOD FOR YOUR FACE!!! it washes off your natural bacteria on your face. the regiment your using is drying your skin and in turn causing more acne. it wont happen over night. give it a month and you will be impressed. good luck

Clogged EaR!!?

Someone please help!!

I was just bathing and i accidentally sprayed the shower in my ear. Soon after my ear got totally clogged and i cant hear a thing!! WHAT SHOULD I DO??

Clogged EaR!!?
As painful as it sounds, dip a q-tip in 70% or so isopropyl alcohol, and swab it in your ear. It should dissolve the water, just let it drain by holding your ear to the floor. You do not want that water sitting in there for too long, you could develop a painful ear infection.

Clogged ear after home ear wax removal kit?

Earlier today I tried on of those home ear wax remover kits I think Murine brand, and while it did loosen and remove most of the earwax now one of my ears is completely clogged, with pressure similar to being on an airplane, but with pain also. I've tried flushing it out several times with water, but it doesnt help. All customer service told me was if I had concerns that I should see my doctor, which is all well and good, but I cant afford it, in a cant afford it for another few months type of thing.

Any suggestions? it hurts quite a bit.

Clogged ear after home ear wax removal kit?
yes , quit using the kit warm water alone is good enough. To much of the chemicals in the kit can cause damage. If you have over used the kit by all means see a Doctor.

I have had this problem before, Just take the little bulb and keep Flushing with very warm water only. I did this for along time ,and finally A big chunk came out and I haven't had the problem again. Now I flush my ears every time I take a shower. No Q-tips that is how I believe I packed it in so bad.

I hope this works for you ,I know how annoying this can be.

I did learn from this though, I now understand how people with hearing problems feel.

I put a white hand towel in the sink as a filter so I could catch what came out, this gives you an idea of your progress. You might have to repeat this 2 or3 days in a row as the warm water softens the wax, twenty to thirty minutes a day till clear is enough, You don't want to over do it and make your ear raw.

GOOD LUCK with this.
Reply:Yer you might have pushed some wax further in while getting some out. I hear vegetable oil is a good way to fix that. Just use a few drops daily. You could also google this problem or if it doesn't get betetr see a doctor
Reply:i dont know how good it is,but my father gets vegetable oil and heats it up and wiith a eyedropper drops a few drops in his ear, then he puts a piece of cotton in the ear .
Reply:Use rubbing alcohol to help dry up the water trapped in your ear. Take a decongestant and 800 mg ibuprofen every six hours for the pain. Next time, just use the drops and let the wax come out on it's own.
Reply:Call the doctor is the answer for everything. People have been so brain washed.

first. put the palm of your hand over the ear like a suction cup. With that ear pointed down use the palm like a plunger and see if you can suck it loose.

Second get a baby squeeze bulb and make a mix of equal parts of Hydrogen Peroxide, alcohol and warm water. Fill the squeeze bulb and squirt this into your ear with that ear pointing down again. Do this a couple of times then wait a couple of hours. Your ear should clear.
Reply:Call your doctor and see if they will let you come in for an "ear irrigation". and if they will let you pay so much a month......If they say no, then ask them if they can give you the number to the nearest "Clinic" in your area......

It will be a little painful no matter who does it, but you do need to be seen by a doctor........especially since you now have pain......It can be dangerous to not have this treated, and you don't want to mess up your hearing by having something very wrong with your ear canal.....good luck.
Reply:omgoshes what i do is put water in my ear, rinse a bit, a shake it out patting my other ear to try and get all water out. dry your ear and if it duznt wrk, try yawning a bit to get the cloggyness out

Clogged kitchen sink...Fat!?

Our kitchen sink is suddenly completely clogged. Since yesterday and especially today is extremely cold (-30) I think fat I poured into the sink in the past day or so has hardened in the pipes. Not water, snaking, etc. has not helped. Will pouring Lye or something else help if it's hardened fat??

Clogged kitchen sink...Fat!?
use some liquid plumber and when you get it unclogged i always pour a little dawn dishwashing liquid down my pipes every couple of days with some very hot water for 2 or 3 minutes (dawn is great at cutting grease) and it will prevent this from happening in the future, also washing used coffee grounds down your drain with hot water keeps the pipes cleaned out. it acts as an abrasive.
Reply:yes try the lye .......never pour fat down the sink
Reply:never pour fat down the sink, and never leave pots, pans sittiing in the sink with water over them and fat. Lye would work but be very careful, one tiny droplet splashing up towards your face could blind you. Lye is as corrosive as battery acid.

Removing a section of pipe below and cleaning it out is a better choice.
Reply:do not put lye down a drain ,it will eat the pipe up and you will have a bigger job to fix . that the trip off and use a snake to clean it out andopen it up then run hot water down the drain after that put dnain-o dwon and let set for a hour at will be clean again. never pour fat down the sink agian ,put it in a can

Clogged tub problem?

My house is pretty old, and our pipes are pretty worn. For christmas I got this sugar body scrub and used it in the bathtub. It did a number on our drains, and we found a month later that our tub is clogged.

My mom put draino in it yesterday and it hasn't gone down a bit, but now a bunch of sludge is coming up. It's pretty disgusting, and judging by the viscosity of it, there's a great deal of the body scrub in it.

My question is this:

Should I manually empty the tub myself in order to get rid of the sludge?

And if so, how to I further help clear the drains?

Thanks in advance,

Astrid

Clogged tub problem?
From your description it sounds like you've purchased a home in Amityville. If so, the problem you're encountering with sludge will only worsen. I also foresee the possiblity of other unsightly (and disquieting) phenomena, such as a multitude of flies appearing, rivulets of blood defacing the walls, and hostile movements on the part of the cellar. To preserve your own peace of mind and general well-being, I urge you to vacate the premises as quickly (and silently) as possible. Yes, obey the little voice that says "Get out!" --Carlos
Reply:Pull the Overflow/drain control cover off, lift out the drain plug assembly, and run a small "snake" (fairly inexpensive at Lowes/HD) to clear the clog.

Once you get a flow going, run lots of hot water through to clear it up some more.
Reply:Just suck it out....
Reply:let the draino sit for a day or two more than try to use a shop vacuum to suck it up.or use a snake
Reply:With it being the tub, I would guess that you might want to snake the drain. The real problem is probably hair trapped in the drain. Soaps and stuff of that nature only enhances problems like that.
Reply:The draino is just kicking in. Putting a plunger to it will not help as the overflow vent will not let you plunge properly.

Running a snake should do it. Cheaper to buy one than calling a plumber.

When you have opened the drain, use baking soda and vinegar regularly to keep the drain open, also when you rinse the tub after using it (do it every time), run very hot water down as the last thing you do
Reply:I would drain the tub with a pan or bucket into the toilet and flush it twice.

you will need very hot water to get the sugar to melt. This is like cooking so boiling it on the stove and pouring it into the tub. use caution with the hot water so your not burned. it will not hurt your tub.

also you can use a plumbers helper on the drain in the tub.
Reply:You need to call the plumber ASAP. When the drain comes back up that usually means the sewer is backing up. Call in the professionals.
Reply:I love the plunger...just keep plunging to loosen it up and this works best WITH water in the tub.

Clogged pores?

What is a good product that will open my pores to clean the clogged up stuff in my face pores, and what other products will scrub away dead skin cells?

Clogged pores?
steam your face...over a bowl of hot water with a towel over your head....then use a facial scrub like apricot scrub.

also, i use these little exfoliating pads from the body shop..clears your skin up.

about £3.00 for three.

use pantene shampoo.

every night before you go to bed

wet your face then dry it

then get the pantene and scrub it all over your face and let it stay on your face until you see that the shampoo [like the foam] is starting to go away means its desolving into your skin which is making your pores cleaner

then wash it off.

Clogged Pores?

I'm in my twenties and have clogged pores around my nose and on my cheeks beside the nose. I've tried exfoliating and steaming but it's made no difference. Any tips from any beauty experts out there?

Clogged Pores?
morning

1st wash face with a good cleanser and toner

2nd wash face with hot water .. and then cold this will refresh your face and close your paws

3rd stop with foundation and use only tinted moisturizer ( doesn't clog up paws and gives a sun kissed look)

4Th drink plenty of water and fruit and veg

5Th keep face nice and warm and drink loads of hot drinks
Reply:Have regular facials from a qualified therapist. Once a month will make your skin look years younger, get rid of the congestion by your nose and is a real investment in the future.
Reply:Deep cleansing cream like Ponds, that could help a little. And lots of water. But you have to drink the water. 4 8-ounce glasses daily at least.
Reply:Cleansing from the inside. Drink lots of water, lay off the caffeine.
Reply:I had the same problem, go to a dermatologist get a dermabrasion and try to use oil free makeup. The oil clogges ur pores.
Reply:get an exfoiltar.

but then after use a toner to open and minimize pores.

only do this at morning and before you go to bed.
Reply:Hi,

L'Oreal Pure Zone is really good for this problem, however, if you have dry skin (like me) I recommend you use it 2-3 times a week. Also after you steam your face rinse with cold water as this closes the pores and prevents them from re-clogging.

Clogged Fuel Rail?

Hey guys,

I am having trouble with my car... When I get on highways and drive for about 30 minutes, my car starts having hard time accelerating. It starts happening after the engine gets warm.

I had done everything, Changed the Wires, Plugs... EGR system... Cleaned the MAF sensor...

So left without any options, I took it to Midas Auto Shop and they said that they will have to run a diagnostics on it. After running it, they came to me and said that my FUEL RAIL is clogged. To make it clear it is the part where the injectors are connected to the Rail...

So do you think that this is the culprit, or do those guys are just trying to get away with it?

Clogged Fuel Rail?
You don't specify make/model/year or engine, so this is a bit of a crap shoot...

It makes no sense that a clogged fuel rail would show up, and KEEP showing up, ONLY after 30 minutes of highway driving. It'd either BE there or NOT be there as a problem. It's not like this problem would be heat sensitive or anything.

Just ahead of your fuel rail, you'll likely find a pressure regulator. IF (big IF) they've at least gotten you close with their original diagnosis, the regulator is right there ahead of the rail. That said, they don't tend to fail in this manner very often, either... neither do fuel pumps, for that matter, although it's possible. A single injector failure is also a possibility -- failing as it warms up. You don't specify cylinder count, but with a smaller number, any one failing is going to be more obvious.

ANY chance you're already in a hot climate part of the country, and dealing with a vapor lock of some sort? It would explain the time at highway speed issue in a cleaner fashion!

Just how confident ARE these guys that you actually have a fuel delivery problem, and how did they make that call? Based upon your description, it wouldn't show up without a road test unless something popped up on an OBD2 scan that put them onto it.
Reply:Hi,

I am surprised as there should be a fuel finter in the system before the rail that should clog first. Look for this filter before you do a railendectomy... JMO

good luck

Phil
Reply:More than likely the fuel filter has become almost completely plugged.Change the fuel filter. If you still have problems I would suspect a fuel delivery problem in the tank.(eg.A hole on the pressure side of the fuel line inside of the tank.If the rail was plugged it probably would not run.Ask those guys if they just wanted your money. It is sad and thier are many that just make up repairs not knowing what to do.
Reply:If the fuel rail is clogged, ask what it is clogged with! If it is rust they could be correct, but you would have other problems than that! Like a rusty gas tank or a clogged fuel filter, and you should have gone through multiple fuel pumps. Ask them how they arrived at their diagnosis. You should get another opinion.

Clogged Pores?

I have these bumps by my cheek bones and I can't get rid of them. I think they might be clogged pores but they never really turn into zits! Does anybody know how i can get rid of them?

Clogged Pores?
Assuming they are clogged pores, here's a few things to try:

Steam your pores open - either by using steaming water or by taking a wet washcloth and microwaving it for 15-20 seconds and putting that over your face.

Clean your face with a pore cleanser treatment (Biore, Clean and Clear, etc..) that's designed for pores.

Use a clay mask to draw the oils out of your skin (Olay has a blue clay mask that's cheap and works and smells great)

After the above process, wait a day and try a scrub that will exfoliate and remove any dead skin that traps dirt and oil (I recommend St Ives Apricot scrub).

Any combination of these should help, all 4 should give you the best results. You may need to repeat the treatments every week or so.

Good luck and I hope your bumps go away! :-)
Reply:I pick at my skin...I know I know everyone says not to do that but I do and it works for me... my complexion is pretty clear i don't really have problems with eating nuts or chocolate...
Reply:theyre called whiteheads..kinda like blackheads, but white...use St.Ives Apricot Scrub works very very well.

Clogged Ear ??

i have a seriously clogged ear...Ive tried Debrox and peroxide and water, but nothing seems to help?? i know I should go to my dr ..does it hurt to have your ear cleaned out ???

Clogged Ear ??
No it doesn't hurt to have your ear cleaned out. First the nurse (or doctor) looks at your ear with a bright light to see what's going on. It's probably just stubborn wax buildup. You'll feel warm water in the ear and hear gushing water as the nurse cleans it out but don't fret, it won't hurt you. It's the same action you took, just that they can see how large the wax is, and they know how long to do the procedure to make it effective.
Reply:This might sound weird and gross, but growing up we never used q-tips LOL We always used clean bobby pins for our ears. It actually scrapes and pulls the wax out instead of just smooshing it in further like q-tips do. You have to be delicate and try not to stick them in too far, but it's quite simple. If you're not sure what a bobby pin looks like, this is what I'm talking about:

http://static.flickr.com/30/48180509_857...

There are different kinds (usually called "hair pins") but this is the best kind. The wax stays in the loopy part and you can wipe it onto a kleenex. Hope this helps, I've since converted to q-tips but every once in a while I have to do this when I get a clogged ear.
Reply:you might think i am silly but when i was a child, i used to get a alot of clogged ears. it was weird. my mom used to give me a shot of whiskey and two aspirin and of course i would go to sleep, wake up no more ear aches. but it has to be aspirin. so hopefully u are not allergic to arpirin.
Reply:Definitely get to a Dr.--it really should not hurt.
Reply:I think the different things that you are putting in your ear is making the condition worse. When I wash my hair the water clogs my ears. Cleaning out the ear doesn't hurt too bad but it may be something that you will have to endure if it does hurt. I can't stand when my ears are clogged!
Reply:one time eddie van halen had a clogged, painful ear. he went to the doctor and they found a cockroach living in there. gross.
Reply:No, it doesn't hurt that much. It might at first but just rest and it should feel better when you wake up. I haven't had it done but my friend has.

Clogged ears are not good b/c they affect the rest of your body. Seriously...not a good time.

Clogged pipe!?

I hear that Dran-o is bad for my pipes, so can pouring something like bleach undo a clog? Any other ideas?

Clogged pipe!?
depends what is clogged
Reply:Depends on the clog I just tried commet on a hair clog in my sink and it worked great.
Reply:Drano will work but not the best for your plumbing...try a plunger first but bleach will not help.
Reply:If you follow the directions and flush the drain opener like your supposed to, Drano and any similar product is totally fine for your plumbing, contrary to what you may have heard. Using a plunger, boiling hot water, and a drain snake are all harmless too.

Clogged milk duct?

I'm pretty sure that I have a clogged milk duct, and it really hurts! Just noticed it last night, it looks like an inflamed pimple 1 cm from my nipple. I've continued nursing as often as I can get my daughter to breast, I've used a hot compress before nursing.

What worked for you? Do you have any other suggestions for what I can try to pass this? It hurts!

Clogged milk duct?
When I had a plugged duct a couple of times I had to break the blister and pull some gunky bits out (with tweezers). You should do this just before the baby nurses, and as the baby nurses you should try to find the duct deeper in your breast that is full and push on it to encourage it to drain.

Most people say if you keep nursing it will go away on its own, personally I think a little bit of help is sometimes in order.

How do you treat a milk blister?

http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/...

Plugged Ducts and Mastitis

http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/...
Reply:I read that hot showers and massaging them out helps.
Reply:This will hurt at first, but just under the nipple extending out, rub the area between fingers to feel a tube like duct and pinch/squeeze gently and pull outwards. You may have to do this a couple of times with added pressure each time.

This is what my doctor did and taught me with my last baby. He also had me use mild heat and massage after wards to avoid any more; I did have 2 more anyways.
Reply:Nurse Nurse Nurse. And a warm/hot bath, leaning into the water while squeezing nipples to get the milk to leak.
Reply:I JUST HAD ONE OF THOSE BAD BOYS and i was told to apply hot compress and give it a gentle massage if it gets to bad you should see the Dr because a infection will be a problem
Reply:If it's warm, very painful, or has red marks branching out from it, call your doctor! It may be infected and it's dangerous to let it continue that way- it can spread the infection to other tissue nearby.
Reply:Hot showers and breast rubs may help. Other than that you are doing everything that worked for me. Hope it gets better soon.
Reply:Massage your breast while nurseing will relieve any presure you feel. Try and put olive oil on your nipples to help soothe them. It won't her your baby, it can accually be good for him or her And just NURSE, NURSE, NURSE!!!!!!
Reply:Go to the doctor.
Reply:you will need to talk to your doctor, and probably get medication for it. anything hot and moist will help it out. Just dont stop nursing.....
Reply:Go the the doctor, it could be infected and then you and the baby may need medication. Try massaging it out in a hot shower, or using a differet hold with nursing so that you baby is putting suction and pressure in a different spot.

EDIT: Wow, thumbs down for suggesting the doctor. You know, doctors see this kind of stuff everyday and would probably be able to do more help than a bunch of people on the net who may have known someone who may have gone through the same thing once upon a time.

Good luck anyway.
Reply:Using a small pin, poke a hole into the affected area of skin and attempt to dislodge the blockage from the duct. Be careful not to pass the pin through both sides of the duct though. Make sure you sterilize the pin first with rubbing alcohol and clean the area afterwards.

Clogged tear duct or something more???

My daughters pediatrician keeps informing me that it is just a clogged tear duct. She is 7-months old and I swear it is getting worse. Poor thing can't even open her eye all the way. When she wakes up it is completely glued shut with goop. I have used a few different drops but they do nothing except make her little eye look worse. It gets so bad that it looks raw. Is this normal or do I go over my pediatrician's head and find a pediatric ophthalmologist? It is starting to look weak and lazy...if there is something I can do NOW to prevent her eye from being lazy in the future then I would be up for it!

I'm in Ventura County so if anyone knows of a specialist in the area I would love names.

Clogged tear duct or something more???
My son had the same thing, when I took him to the dr, they took a culture and had it sent off. In the mean time (in case it was pink eye) they gave me an ointment to put in his eye. It ended up being a clogged tear duct, the dr called me with the results and told me to stop using the ointment. He was to the point where his eye was practically glued shut with the goo. It cleared up within a few days though. Yours sounds more serious and I would go above your drs head. If it turns out to be nothing but the tear duct, then you will feel better knowing you did all you could. On the other hand if you don't go you really don't know what the outcome will be, whether the baby could lose sight in the eye or it become weak, etc. You should do what makes you feel better.
Reply:Opthamologist. If her eye is getting lazy, they can work to fix that. My son had problems with both eyes wandering and it was fixed before he was 10 months old with simple patching. If we had waited until he was older, surgery may have been the only option. The specialist will also be able to fix the tear duct hopefully. Make sure you are also rubbing/massaging under the eye until you can get there. Call your insurance to find who they cover and call those names first to see if they are accepting new clients. Good Luck!
Reply:Take her to an eye specialist. She could have an infection by now so you probably should stop the eye drops, too!

The majority of blocked tear ducts unblock themselves after a few days, but after a week or so, sometimes the doctor has to unblock them.

Both my daughters had them (unblocked themselves), but my oldest also had a blocked saliva gland that the doctor had to undo.
Reply:You really need to find someone else to look at her. Now adays doctors dont always know exactly what is wrong. That is the sad truth. I think you should trust what your gut is telling you and get someone elses opinion
Reply:It doesn't hurt to be cautious. If going to another doctor gives you peace of mind then do it. Until the use a warm damp wash cloth to keep it gunk free. Good luck and take care.
Reply:money
Reply:It sounds like your daugther may have a severe bacterial infection, possibly conjunctivitus (pink eye) This explains the goop and rawness. In which case, you would need special drops perscribed specifically by an opthamologist. I would go to a specialist as soon as possible. Until then, cleanse her eye with a wet, warm washcloth. Try not to worry, young children often get eye infections. Get her checked out and it should clear up in about three days to a week.
Reply:Ask to be referred to a specialist. I'd demand it.
Reply:What kind of drops have you been using - prescription? There are antibiotic drops that you can use to help clear up the goop and they work quickly (starts improving first day). She probably has a little infection but the goop will keep coming until you get these drops. Your pedi should be able to call them in without even going in to see him.

Clogged Ears?

My ears have been clogged since Christmas. I think it's sinuses so I have been taking allergy medicine every day. It feels like there is liquid in them. Like I should just be able to shake my head a little bit and it should come out but it never does. I have had a hard time hearing things. I'm a waitress for crying out loud. It's my job to hear what people order and I'm having trouble even doing that. I need advice on how to hurry this away or at least lessen it. Please... any advice would be helpful!!

Clogged Ears?
You can irrigate them yourself. I had that same problem, and I have it quite often [my ears produce wax at a really fast rate :/] Start putting a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in each ear. Lay with your head to the side while it bubbles up. Wait about 5 minutes and drain the ear. Do this for a few days to get the wax soft. get yourself a syringe, it can be the kind that you give babies medicine with [that's what the dr. used with me] or a bulb syringe. Put lukewarm water in it, then blast it into the ear. I did this about 20 times over my bathroom sink, and the hugest chunk of wax finally came out. You just have to keep trying until you can hear again. Best of luck to you, I know how you feel and it sucks!
Reply:Try rubbing alcohol in a syringe.

Try a decongestant, like Sudafed.

I think things are infected, so see the dr.

Reply:First make sure it isn't a build up of wax first and get your ears irrigated at the doctors and see if that helps and if not then it is just allergies. I have the same problem and I swear I can't hear a thing sometimes.
Reply:I had this same problem a year ago. I sleep on my side so my ears tend to be muffled in the mornings. It got so uncomfortable that eventually I went to the doctor for it. I thought it was an ear infection but it turned out to be wax buildup. I hadn't had my ears cleaned in 10 years! haha, but they just squirted my ears with a syringe and I haven't had a problem since. I also experienced the liquid feeling in my ears.

Clogged Tear Ducts? Any Help here?

Hello

I'm 12 and Ihave clogged tear ducts. It's a birth effect. My mom doesn't know any way to fix it. Could you tell me how to fix it w/o getting surgery? Please help. Thanks.

Clogged Tear Ducts? Any Help here?
Below is a link so you can learn more about tear ducts. If your ducts are absent entirely or are permanently clogged, likely you will require someone to go in and open them up. Maybe this requires surgery, maybe they can do it in a few minutes in the clinic, I don't know without knowing exactly what kind of birth defect you're referring to. If they simply clog easily when you're sick or upset, perhaps an anti-inflammatory medicine could help.

Either an ophthalmologist (eye doctor) or otolaryngologist (ears-nose-throat doctor) is who deals with this type of thing, so if it really bothers you get your mom to make an appointment and I'm sure they can explain your options better.

Also try biore pore strips they work great to get all that stuff out of pores

For a toner/astringent try lemon juice with a cotton ball once daily great for acne acne scars oily skin and pores

Make a paste of oatmeal or almond and apply it on the face.

Mix either oatmeal or almond powder with rose water to make a soft paste that spreads easily on the skin. Rub it on skin with fingertips especially on the affected areas. Leave to dry for about 15 minutes and then wash off with cold water.

Prepare a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves and apply it over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This is an effective home remedy for blackheads and will prevent acne, pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.

A solution made of one and a half cups of hot water and half a tablespoon of boric powder is a very good home remedy for blackheads.

Extract juice of one lemon and mix with equal quantity of rose water. Apply this mixture on the face and keep it for about half an hour. Wash the face with fresh water. About 15 days application helps cure acne, pimples and reduces blemishes and scars.

Apply undiluted lemon juice, two to three times a day, on the affected areas.

Nettle Tea is another remedy, this tea has a herb that has some curing power and really helps work wonders on skin problems.

Take some Ground drumstick pods and leaves and mix with fresh limejuice, and apply on pimples. This is also good for blackheads and dark spots.

Warm a little honey and apply on the blackhead areas. Wash off after 10-15 minutes.

Fresh mint juice is also very effective home remedy for skin troubles. Apply this on the face every night for the treatment of all kinds of skin diseases such as acne, pimples, insect stings, eczema, scabies, %26amp; other skin infections.

Prepare a mixture of 1 or 2mls each of the following: witch hazel, tea-tree and sweet fennel essential oils, adding essential oil of geranium for women and essential oil of rosewood for men. Mix with 300mls of water. Shake before use, as the oils will float on top of the water during storage.

A mixture of fresh limejuice and a glass of boiled milk when applied to face wash prevents the formation of acne, pimples, blackheads, and cracked skin.

Large pores on face can be treated with paste of sandalwood powder with masoor dal.

For blackheads treatment prepare a mixture of equal parts of limejuice, almond oil and glycerin and apply to the face.

Beat an egg white until stiff. Add 1 tsp honey and then apply to the face with a cotton swab. Leave for 1/2 hour and then wash with warm water.

Mix an egg white with aloe Vera gel and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Egg whites cause the pores to tighten and the aloe Vera has a soothing and anti-biotic effect on the skin. The lavender is very healing for the skin.

Make a paste of ground radish seeds with water and apply on face to remove blackheads.

For blackheads treatment rub ice cubes on the face for 10-15 minutes. It will tighten the pores.

Apply cucumber juice on the face. Wash it off after 15 minutes. It will tighten the pores.
Reply:try using a facial cleanser that has the lil scrub beads in them. like the neutrogena pore cleanser, that worked for me. i usually wash my face twice a day and try to use warm water rather than cold bc it works better to wash out the dirt and oil from your pores. you should also apply a on the spot treatment for wherever you think you might eventually get a zit. that way you decrease the healing time and probably clear out your face even more.
Reply:fash your face after showering and washing face use moisturizer also you can use acne treatment cream, i find equate works well. use it even if u dont have pimples yet and maybe it will prevent them from coming.

Clogged ears?

I live in California, in the L.A area. What's the average cost the Ear throat %26amp; nose specialist charges to unclog clogged ears?

take a real hot shower and put your ear to a hot stream for a few seconds then hold your ear down to drain do it over and over on both ears

About 10mins in each ear. Hope this help. There is nothing like being able to hear instead of listening to muffles all day

Clogged ear due to cold...?

I have a clogged ear due to a cold (lotsss of tissues!) and it's getting really annoying and slightly painful. I know that it isn't wax or anything as well.... It's only been like this for less than a day, and even when i slept on that side it didn't clear. The pressure kinda hurts at times, but nothing major and it's only a little bit harder to hear. This is a similar feeling as to been you get water in your ear, but I know that it isn't water and won't come out if i tilt my head and jump (works for water).

Anything I can do to help clear it faster, or is it just time time time? Thanks..

Clogged ear due to cold...?
yes buy a nasal decongestant.
Reply:this will hurt at first but it makes it go away try holding your nose and trying to blow out of it your ear will pop i got that on a air plane and then i was better
Reply:try popping ur ears by either: 1. chewing gum or; 2. plugging ur nose, then opening ur mouth and "pushing" air from ur mouth (if that makes sense)

if u r rly worried talk 2 ur doctor

Clogged sink?

NASTYYYYY!!!! My sink gets clogged every now and then, I usually use drano. This time around, I tried and it didn't work very well. Draining was still pretty slow, so I tried the old fashioned vinegar and baking soda which worked for a while but now my sink is slow once again.

I just tried the plunger and this gross slimey looking stuff was coming out of the drain, yuck! Does anyone know what it is? Guess I have to call the plumber :(

Clogged sink?
I think I can help!

I used to manage maintenance at a large apartment complex and I have dealt with this problem many times.

The stuff that is stuck in your drain is a mixture of hair, makeup, styling products, dead skin, and who know what else. REALLY gross! So, if you can avoid it, you don't want to pull the p-trap off, as this will make you deal with that slimey black stuff (once had one of my guys pull a 6 foot glob of hair and **** from under the sink of some women's apartment, and the smell was so bad the guy actually passed out!!!). You might not have any alternative but to try that method, but there is one thing you can try first that usually works unless you have some 6 foot monster dwelling in your pipes.

If you have a sink drain plug that has the puller behind the faucet that you pull up to stop the drain, there is something you can do. If you look under your sink at the back side of the straight pipe the comes out of the bottom of your sink, look for a place where the puller from up above comes down and connects to a peice of bar that goes into the pipe. Right where that bar goes into the pipe should be a place the you can unscrew that will allow you to pull the bar out. It should be connected to a plastic ball the creates the seal between the inside of the pipe and the outside and also allows the puller to move up and down. The little plug in the bottom of your sink is connected to this bar on the inside of the pipe. Hair wraps around that bar and over time accumulates and tangles, until it creates a large enough mass to cause your drain to slow. Loosen the peice that holds the bar that I described before. Pull the bar out far enough to allow you to pull the drain plug out. Be careful not pull it too far out and make sure you note where everything goes so you can put it back together properly. Once you pull out the plug, look at the bottom of it. There should be a hole or place for the bar to go that allows the bar to make it go up and down. Remember how that goes so you can replace it properly. Now look down the drain. You should be able to see the bar. Check to if it has hair on it if it is still sticking into the pipe. If you have pulled it out far enough or jiggled it just right, the hair mass should have fallen off. Plug the whole down their or screw the bar back in and try putting water in to see if you can clear out the drain. If that was a big part of the problem, you should be able to run water through your sink and get the glob to drain out. Now put everything back together, making sure your drain still works properly.

If that doesn't help, you will have to pull your p-trap off. You will have to clean the trap out and should run a snake a couple feet into the drain pipe where it goes into the wall. Caution!!! Be prepared with a bucket and plenty of rags or paper towels. This will be messy and smelly! Don't let any of the black goop get on anything! Wear rubber gloves too. Seriously stinky stuff. Reminds me of the mud that would come from the bottom of some stagnant frog pond....

Good luck!
Reply:that stuff is probably grease mixed with what ever else you been putting in there. Don't put grease, oil, or anything like that in your sink. try running really hot water in the sink for a while. if that don't work, you need someone to snake it out for you.
Reply:yes you been allowing fats to go down your sink this gradully clogs things up,check under your sink to see if there is a plug at the bottom of your trap,if there is take it out and clean out the trap,if there is no plug then i sugest you call a plumber and in future try to be more carefull what you put down your drains,to prevent it keep re acuring
Reply:i would just replace the trap. its not that hard. if it keeps clogging that bad, you either need to clean the trap or replace. both are nasty fixes, but relacing the trap is less nasty and then you know what you got. just put a small bucket under it when you do. way cheaper than a plumber!
Reply:This is an accumulation %26amp; breakdown of food. Best thing to do is to keep up the routine with the plunger while running hot water. Afterwhich, thoroughly clean your sink (comet, bleach) before using it. You'll have to do this a few times...you may not have proper gravity drainage which causes your water to back up.

If this is your kitchen sink with the disposal, when you're using it, run hot water and let that disposal churn for a good 30-45 seconds. This way, your waste will have a better chance of being pulverized.
Reply:Rent a "snake" from Home Depot.
Reply:Suggestion: Don't use any acid type drain cleaner. It'll eat up your pipes and could cause you serious burns if in contact. If the clog is just in your kitchen sink, and none others (toilet, bath, drain, etc.) then the restriction is local. If you call a plumber, they will snake that section perhaps from under the sink or the vent. However, if you own a house and have not done a maintenance on your house pipes at all, it would be worth your while to have the plumber snake (clear) the main sections also. More than likely you have restrictions in your bathroom sinks and showers also.

Clogged ear after cold. What to do?

I recently got over a cold. I have some residual mucous here and there, but now my left ear is clogged up.(it wasn't when my nasal passages were congested) There is no pain, but I'd like to make sure it doesn't turn into an ear infection. I'm taking cold medicine every 3 hours, its the generic to tylenol sinus, congestion and pain.

Nothing has changed though in the last 20 hours. So is this stuff working? How long should I wait before going to the doctor?

Clogged ear after cold. What to do?
There is some medicinal herb ear drops that work really well! You can get them at target, and I have used them. They help with pain and clogging. If you use this and your symptoms get worse or dont improve, then see your doctor. Otherwise, you could call you doctor and ask him about it.
Reply:just take steem inhalation %26amp; tab. SN15 one tab stat

The eustachian tube (a tube leading from the tympanic cavity to the nasopharynx; it consists of an osseous (posterolateral) portion at the tympanic end, and a fibrocartilaginous (anteromedial) portion at the pharyngeal end; where the two portions join, in the region of the sphenopetrosal fissure, is the narrowest portion of the tube (isthmus); the auditory tube enables equalization of pressure within the tympanic cavity with ambient air pressure, referred to commonly as “popping of the ears.”) gets clogged.

Take care not to blow your nose too much. Blow one nose at a time only if it gets congested.
Reply:Just drink hot water whenever you feel thirsty, try to yawn as many times as possible and take rice with rasam, dal or vegetable curries with gravy cooked with lots of garlic. For example, you should consume on your own at least one big pod of garlic (after peeling of the skin) well cooked in dalt etc. in one day from morning to evening. You should start getting some positve results from the second day itself.
Reply:How Do I Know If I Have Otitis Media?

If you or your child has an earache accompanied by a stuffy or runny nose and a sore throat and fever, it is likely that the problem is otitis media. Your doctor will most likely examine the eardrum with an instrument called an otoscope for signs of infection - not an easy task if the patient is a fussy infant. The doctor may also check for blockage of the middle ear using a pneumatic otoscope, which blows a little air at the eardrum. This air should cause the eardrum to move back and forth. If fluid is present or the canal is blocked, the eardrum will not move as readily.

Another test is tympanometry, which uses sound and air pressure to check for fluid in the middle ear. If needed, an audiologist will perform a hearing test to determine if there is hearing loss.

To check for a bacterial infection, a doctor may, on rare occasions, make an opening in the eardrum, draw out a sample of fluid from the middle ear, then culture the sample in a laboratory. This more extreme measure is usually used only for serious or particularly stubborn infections.

What Are the Treatments?

The goal of most doctors and therapists is to rid the middle ear of infection before more serious complications set in. Treatment usually involves eliminating the causes of otitis media, killing any invading bacteria, boosting the immune system and reducing swelling in the eustachian tubes.

Conventional Medicine

Otitis media is often caused by a viral infection, in which case the only relief doctors can offer is treatment of the symptoms. This may involve trying to reduce swelling in the eustachian tubes with a decongestant, such as pseudoephedrine, and an antihistamine, possibly diphenhydramine. (Note: Antihistamines will not cure otitis media, and they may cause minor side effects, including drowsiness and nervousness.)

To ease the pain, your doctor may recommend a pain reliever, typically acetaminophen or ibuprofen, which also helps reduce a fever. Aspirin should be avoided in children because of the threat of Reye's syndrome.

A controversy surrounds the use of antibiotics in treating bacterial middle ear infections. Some physicians initially treat only the symptoms of otitis media, without the help of bacteria-killing drugs. Studies have shown that the majority of otitis media cases will get better when treated this way. Other research, in fact, suggests that many otitis media cases are viral in origin and therefore will not respond to antibiotics.

But many doctors, particularly in the U.S., are concerned that without antibiotics, bacteria lurking inside the middle ear can grow out of control, possibly causing a serious complication such as hearing loss or mastoiditis. After all, they point out, these complications have become rare, largely as a result of antibiotic therapy. To be on the safe side, many American physicians treat all otitis media cases as if bacteria were present.

Amoxicillin is the antibiotic of choice for treating bacterial otitis media. The drug is highly effective: A single course of amoxicillin can knock out an ear infection in seven to 10 days, at little cost.

Lately, however, doctors have noticed trouble with this wonder drug. As it turns out, some types of bacteria have grown resistant to amoxicillin. Critics of routine antibiotic use in the U.S. charge that the millions of prescriptions of amoxicillin written for otitis media that had no bacterial element helped to create these resistant bacterial strains.

Whatever their origin, amoxicillin-resistant bacteria have shown up in a number of communities, prompting many doctors to prescribe other antibiotics for otitis media. Some of these substitutes, which tend to be more expensive than amoxicillin, are taken from a class of medications called cephalosporins. Others are combination drugs - amoxicillin and clavulanate, for instance. For those allergic to amoxicillin, doctors may prescribe sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, or erythromycin mixed with a sulfa drug like sulfisoxazole.

If a case of otitis media develops serious complications or if fluid remains in the ear for more than three months, physicians may suggest surgery to eliminate infection or drain the middle ear. One technique, called myringotomy, involves piercing the eardrum to release fluid from the middle ear. If the eustachian tubes become completely closed off due to swelling, a surgeon may insert a ventilation tube inside to keep them open. However, this procedure - called tympanostomy - is often expensive and may lead to infection and scarring. If recurring infections in the adenoids or tonsils cause repeated episodes of otitis media, a physician may suggest having those glands removed.

At-Home Remedies

* You can provide a great deal of symptomatic relief for an infected ear at home. Many find that warmth, perhaps from a warm compress, brings comfort. Steam inhalations may also help, but take care not to burn yourself; protect your eye area as well.

* Taking antihistamines may dry out your throat and respiratory passages; sip water frequently.

* Gargling with salt water helps soothe an aggravated throat and clear the eustachian tubes.

* Holding your head erect can help drain your middle ear.
Reply:it sounds stupid but i would try jumping up and down on the foot of the same side as clogged ear. not sure if this helps. it works when you get water in your ear after swimming.
Reply:SEE A DOCTOR! I got an ear infection right after getting over a brutal cold (which didn't help since I was flying cross country). I saw the doctor and it turns out I had two. My left ear was clogged and I couldn't hear out of it, and my right ear was tender. I saw the doctor right away and they recommended Erythromicin (I'm allergic to Penicillin) and I took that faithfully for ten days. It took a good five days or so for my symptoms to start improving but after 10 days, my ears were in good health. I'm prone to ear infections, and have been since I was an infant.

SEE A DOCTOR ASAP! I cant emphasize that enough. It sounds like you have an ear infection already, and it can have many symptoms besides just pain. It doesn't have to hurt but if your ears aren't functioning normally like they would, it definitely sounds like you've got one. See a doc asap!

Clogged Pores? HELP!?

so i really don't have any visible pimples, my skin appears clear. but when i squeeze different places on my face long, thin, coiling strands of pus come out (i KNOW it sounds SOOO gross!) are these clogged pores? what would happen if i were to leave them alone- would they turn into pimples?

Clogged Pores? HELP!?
Not normally they would not!

Don't worry. It may sound gross, but it's extremely common, unless you're like... God or something you will have these. (exaggeration)

The most common place I am able to squeeze mine out is on my nose. Do I ever get pimples on my nose? Not at all.

The oil that spurts out is the oil that your skin produces naturally from sweat. Many of your pores have this fillage, but the important thing to remember is *your pores will not turn into pimples because of these* it only happens when these pores get blocked or something goes wrong. Then a buildup of these oils happens.

If you take showers regularly then you shouldn't have any problems with acne or pimples, because the oils are removed by these little cleansing sessions and more start slowly building up to take it's place. It's a cycle, really.

The thing to remember is don't squeeze too much! It can cause dry, cracking skin (because you squeeze out alot of moisture) and it make the squeezed area red and icky looking.

Hope this helped!
Reply:Yes. Use neutrogena every night before you go to bed or any pore cleansing mask.
Reply:For a start, Don't squeeze on your on your face or neck or anywhere for that matter. You will end up with scars

I was covered in pimples when I was younger and found a very simple way to clear these up.

Yes! They are clogged pores and even if you didn't squeeze them the could still turn into pimples

Simple solution and very very low cost.

Go to your chemist and buy a bottle of hydrogen peroxicide.

20 %

Get a washer and put the hottest water that you can stand on it and then hold over your face for about 2 minutes (this will also relieve the sinus cavities) and it's like a mini sauna

Then turn the bottle of peroxide up onto a cotton ball or similar, then wipe your face and neck in an upward sweep

It will sting if you have any infections in the pores, but it only lasts a minute or so. A cool breeze with help with the sting

Do this morning and night and during the day if able.

I took me about 2 months to clear up and have never had any problems as I do this twice a day everyday

Clogged tiolet - wire hanger?

the tiolet is clogged beyond my plungering abbilites. i heard that a wire hanger works so i took one, unbent it and sent it up there. i got a few jabs and the...erm...blockage but it didnt help. am i doing it wrong? how is this supposed to help?

Clogged tiolet - wire hanger?
there is an outdoor "clean out trap" somewhere in your yard, about 4" white PVC with a cap on it.

snake that part out.

can rent snakes @ a rental place - is cheaper than buying one.

also check the vents on the roof, sometimes birds will build nests in them,

sound like you need to snake out the outdoor trap.

if it is on your side you will have to pay,

if it is on the city's side they may come do it for free

if you are on septic system it may need to be pumped out, but they have clean out traps tooo

good luck, i've been there before.....

from an oldlady who lives in the country

PS if you rent ask the landlord or if in apartments call them first
Reply:got to get your hand down there and pull out the blockage .... ewwwwwww !!!!!!! ha ha ha ha.

you might pong for a while though
Reply:I think a snake (not the reptile) is the best solution, you can get them at a hardware store.
Reply:a wire hanger well not help you at all,if your plunger well not free the clog, you need to rent a snake, take the clean out cap off and run the snake, you can also try a liquid drain openner,i do not see this working however, you can also buy a cheap snake at like wal mart, these however tend to be short and can only be used by hand, which is fine if you know where the clog is,if you rent a snake it well be elec and much faster and easier, good luck little lady

Clogged ear!! Ahh.. so annoying, please help!?

So I went swimming 3 days ago and had no problem. But last night, I cleaned my right ear with a q-tip and it just clogged up. I can't really hear well out of it. I was wondering if this had anything to do with the swimming, or is it earwax? In any case, any suggestions to clear it?

Clogged ear!! Ahh.. so annoying, please help!?
there are several things you can do:

1. use a product called swimmers ear to dry out ears (i use it everyday after shower)

2. don't use qtips - they often push wax back into ear (exactly what happened to you) and are not recommended

3. theres an over the counter ear wax remover product (but it's about a 5 day regimen)

4. try ear candling to remove excess wax. you can purchase these at health food stores. you have to have another person help you (hold and light the candle)

i've always had problems with my ears and i use the swimmers ear everyday and ear candle every couple of months for smooth sailing.

good luck!
Reply:You have "swimmer's ear" ear infection. Go to walmart or walgreens %26amp; buy Swim Ear %26amp; put it in your ear. It knocks it out IMMEDIATELY!
Reply:I like the over-the-counter wax removal products like Debrox or Cerumenex. Remove excess wax monthly. For easy-does-it removal, you should use a baby-size ear syringe instead of the bulb syringe that comes with the kit to flush the wax away after using the drops. The adult version uses too much pressure. Or, instead of a syringe, stand under the shower and let warm water flow gently over your ear.
Reply:It could be from the swimming, it could be just allergies or something else. Try a decongestant like plain Sudafed (the little red ones - generic brand is good too.) and it should give you some relief.

If it doesn't or it gets worse or you have pain or fever, see a doctor!!
Reply:There are little kits you can buy to remove ear wax - they can be a little messy, but effective.

Also, turn your head to one side and jump up and down. I know it sounds rediculous, but it works sometimes.

I know, its so annoying.

Good luck.
Reply:Try to buy and use the ear cleaning tool kit (about $7/- in Walgreens or Walmart)
Reply:It could be from swimming. If it starts to hurt a little you probably have swimmers ear. To cure this just mix vinegar and rubbing alcohol together and put a few drops in your ear.Avoid swimming.

Clogged hair facials?

i have clogged hair facials on my balls how do i get rid of them

Clogged hair facials?
you really don't want to know now do you??
Reply:Do you mean follicles? If you shave your "balls" i suggest you stop for a little bit. Try and wipe them down with alcohol. As long as you don't have any open areas it won't hurt, and it will dry up the sweat and grease that clogs up the follicle.

Clogged nasal passage?

umm.... my nasal passage is clogged. its not like i have a cold or sinuses or anything. when i talk my voice comes out as if my nose is blocked. i went to an ENT specialist but he said i wuz f9. i think he is wrong, and a lot of people agree with me. this also makes breathing through the nose rather hard. i also went to a surgeon and he said the problem is not the sort to be fixed with surgery.

can some one please tell me some easy home remedies which i can work on?

Clogged nasal passage?
i think your nose might be swollen inside, due to the weather or a sensitive nose. it swells up inside, and it's hard to breathe from the nose, when you sleep you most of the time breathe through the mouth. this causes bad breath easily, and you might have dark eyerings easily, because the blood isn't circulating smoothly. if so, then cutting away the swollen part might or might not help, because it could come back again when its dusty or irritated by the weather again.

try massaging the sides of the nose and on your forehead, as well as your temple, in a circular motion, for 5 - 10 minutes a day, as well as anytime you are free to do that. it helps blood circulation and also eases the sensitivity of the nose.

you could also fill hot water in a basin, wrap a tower around your head, covering the basin, and inhale the steam. it helps to clean up the nose passage and also improve blood circulation.

early sleep and exercises (not cardio type, but the type that builds stamina) such as swimming, running, jogging, will help build up your lungs to be less sensitive as well.

you will need to avoid extreme weather changes as well as keep your environment clean. the massage helps most, since this is also the only thing you can do other than the medicine, which curbs the symptons but not improve it.

yup!
Reply:Are they sure you don't have nasal polyps?

That would be my guess.

Clogging of ears, back neck pain and dizziness?

Every so often I will stand up and get a sudden clogging of my ears, (like cotton was put into them) a stiff neck, and dizziness. Sometimes is will go away after a couple times and others it will happen every time I get up during the day. What is this, how can I fix it and is it normal?

Clogged pores and dry skin at the same time?

Ever since I stopped nursing my daughter my skin has been recking havoc. I get clogged pores on my nose and forehead, and I wash to minimize oil. But at the same time, my skin gets so dry that it flakes! What am I doing wrong? Is there some product out there that will get rid of the oil but won't dry my skin?

Clogged pores and dry skin at the same time?
I am not an expert but my research and information gathering due to my acne prone skin had given me enough insight for skin.

Skin changes its behavior over time of any person regardless of age/gender. Hence it becomes important that we keep a check on our skin's requirements. Most of these in women is due to the hormonal changes at different stages of their life. That does not mean that entire of your facial skin should act the same way.

It appears like you are having the same problem, you have a T-zone oily and rest of the face as dry skin type. This is referred to as combination skin. use a combination skin cleanser (avoid soap as they tend to dry your skin even more) follow it with a combination skin toner and gel based moisturizer (avoid cream based moisturizer as you have clogged pores). Do this 2 times a day, if you over do it, that is when your skin starts flaking as it does not have any moisture, it chips. I used to use Oriflame when i was in India(they are a little on the expensive side but most of their products are good). Now I use The Body Shop or neutrogena as i am in USA. Olay, clean and clear, dove, ponds are also good. Its just that you need these kind of products, does not matter which company they come from.

If nothing else, use aloe Vera paste as moisturizer, that will be great.

"Clogged" feeling or tightness in my chest.?

I've suffered from hay fever allergies my whole life. During my allergy season, I've caught bronchitis twice, and get numerous sinus infections. But this is something new. Lately, after I come inside, and early in the mornings I have been feeling a tightness in my chest. It feels, to me, like its clogged, really. Since it's usually after I come in from outside, when my allergies are acting up I assume it has something to do with allergies. Asthma does run in my family, but I didn't think you could develop it?

"Clogged" feeling or tightness in my chest.?
Go to the doctor sounds like you have asthma. They can listen to your lungs and do a x-ray.
Reply:You can develop asthma at any time in your life, and since it already runs in your family, I would STRONGLY encourage you to go to a doctor and tell him/her about this new symptom you're experiencing (additionally because it could be a lung infection of some sort as well -- though, keep in mind that it could just as easily be nothing serious, so don't panic or anything!). Please make an appointment as soon as possible just to be on the safe side. You should never monkey around when it comes to your lungs -- you need those!

Good luck and take care.
Reply:Very hard to diagnosis respiratory problems with out examining you and listening to your lungs. So my advise to you would be to go see your doctor.
Reply:I have two suggestions, first you should get a x-ray of your lungs, second thing to do is to get a EKG, sometimes other parts of the body send warnings that do not relate directly to where you feel the pain.

Clogged pores... eww!?

You think I'm exaggerating? Ha. Well, that's funny. If I were to post a picture, you would not say that. I won't, though. My camera's broken. Now, I need to get rid of the clogged pores all over my nose. Here are the terms:

~I don't have money for a facial

~I don't want to use pore strips

~I don't want to cover them up any more

~I need to do it at home

Please help me. My skin feels so dirty! Yes, I wash it regularly. Yes, I went to a dermotologist. Yes, I use sunscreen and moisturizer.

I also have a few pimples. My normal remedies arn't working. Any help you could give would be great, and to anyone that says "sux 4 u!" let me say right now 'screw you' to those people.

Thanks helpful people!

Clogged pores... eww!?
Ohhh, honey, I feel for you...I have the same exact problem. But my mom taught me this and it will totally help you out: Just cut a lemon in half (even half a lemon is too much) and rub it all over your nose, chin, etc. (or wherever your blackheads are) Trust me, it will AT LEAST make your spots cleaner. I usually do it about 3 times a week or so, but I guess you could do it as much as you need to. I really hope this helps you, because I know how dreadful it is.... =/ Best of Luck!!
Reply:boil some water and let the steam hit your face then right after that was your face really good
Reply:Do you drink lots of water, eat fresh fruit/veggies? With that in place, you need a good skin care regimen which requires a bit more than sunscreen (which may be a contributor to the clogged pores) and moisturizer. Email me at nesa23us@yahoo.com, I believe I have a solution for you.

when you're sweating pretty good wash your face with warm water, then snap your pores shut by rinsing your face with cold water.

if that doesn't clear your pores, i don't know what will.

Clogged kitchen(twodrain) sink. I have drano'd and snaked, please help?

It is a VERY slow draining clog. About 1/2 hour for a full sink. I have cleaned out the upper pipes, and drano'd, and this morning I used a snake and got some black oily hair and gunk. Mostly oily black gunk.(by the way the black stuff doesn't smell like bile or anything, sort of oil-like) I snaked clear to the end of my snake. What now? I really can't afford a plumber right now. I have heard baking soda and vinegar works, or bleach. Please help.

Thanks!!!!!

Clogged kitchen(twodrain) sink. I have drano'd and snaked, please help?
Pull the p-trap %26amp; undersink drain apart and clean out all the parts. Then run your snake down the sanitary T to clean out all that you can downstream. If it wont clear you will really need to call a plumber.

Will - Plumber/General Contractor
Reply:I have never had any luck with baking soda and vinegar. I use a plunger when mine gets clogged. If you have a disposal then use the plunger on the side opposite the disposal. Remember to cover the sink drain that you don't plunge.
Reply:I would pour a kettle of boiling water down there.

When you have cleared it, ask the men in your household who poured their engine oil down the sink!
Reply:You can try "Liquid Fire" . But be very careful, It will burn you. Pour a small amount down the drain (follow the direction on the bottle). Wait about 10-15 min. then run the hot water. Liquid fire is designed to remove hair and grease.
Reply:I gather it is both sides of the sink that are slow in draining.

DON'T use bleach if you have a septic system!

You can try the baking soda and vinegar trick, but it only really works for clogs that need to be broken up. If you do this, be sure to seal off the other drain. Pour a healthy dose of baking soda in, add the vinegar, and quickly cap the second drain. As the pressure builds, the idea is that it will only be able to go down because you sealed the drain. You can use the palm of your hand to seal the drain.

If you already pulled out a bunch of greese and hair, chances are good that there is more of it that also needs to be extricated. Try the snake again. If you get more out, keep using the snake until you get nothing. You can also try the foaming pipe snake product (I think liquid plumber makes it).
Reply:You can try pouring a full box of baking soda down the sink, and then pouring vinegar after that. The bubbling action may force the obstruction to move.

Following that little trick, boil a huge kettle of water, and try pouring that down the sink as well.

If that doesn't work, you have a grease clog, which unfortunately can't be fixed with a snake. In case you are interested, I'm including a link that describes the whole procedure for removing a grease clog ~ unfortunately, it's not something that you can do yourself.
Reply:Try the baking soda and vinegar

Clogged shower?

Toilet works fine shower is absolutely clogged not even bleach goes down have tried manual 20 ft snake no go ANY IDEAS??

Clogged shower?
Sounds like you got all the bases covered. Time to call in the professional.

He'll probably fix it in 30 seconds and charge some outrageous fee, but its cheaper than the damage that would have ensued if you pursued it yourself ;-)
Reply:HERE'S YOUR ANSWER:

The Toilet is on the main line. The sink and shower are NOT but are branched into the main. In this case the clog is obviously in the section of pipe between the shower and the main. If you can determine where the sink ties in and it is between the shower and toilet, then the clog is between the shower and sink tie in.

Now, unless you have one hell of a big bathroom, it is not 20 feet from your shower to your toilet, or the main pipe below it. This means you are not using the snake correctly.

If you have a basement, go down and tap along the section of pipe with a screw driver or wrench. The man said TAP not pound the **** out of it. The pipe will sound different where it is filled with water(above the clog) and where it is dry (past the clog) Mark the clog. Measure. That's how much snake you need. Add a foot. (Cause in this case size DOES matter) Use a hook ended snake (an auger, technically) and SCREW it into the drain from the shower. It will catch and grab whatever you have been poking at with the other snake. Pull it out. My money is on: Kid's toy, wash cloth, sanitary napkin, pair of panties. In that order. I have found all of the above. Stop laughing!
Reply:You obviously know that a 'garden hose' will not work if the manual snake didn't.....so,

Go to Kennard's Hire and ask to hire an electric drain-snake. I used to work there so I know they have them. It is a lot more powerful than the manual one and it should come with different shaped blades that you can attach to the end of the snake. If it still doesn't do the job (which I doubt), make sure you tell the guys back at kennards because more often than not they will try and help you out financially or with another solution at a cheaper rate.

ps- if your drain is clogged by outside tree roots, unless they are small, the electric snake probably won't be able to get through them. Still I would advise ringing kennards and tell them your problem because it's part of their job to help you find a solution even if it means couriering in equipment from different branches(no cost to you).
Reply:Sounds like Roto-Router time.
Reply:Can you get garden hose down outlet ? Or can you get garden hose up from pipe at other end?Only other thing to put down there would be caustic soda. Usually dissolves most things.Watch your hands with this. Good Luck!
Reply:Perhaps CLR will work?
Reply:now i think it's time for a plumber

Clogged toilet??

I recently installed a new toilet. Now the thing is plugged up. I don't want to plunge because I don't want to ruin the bowl. What kind of clog remover can I go buy? Thanks for any help!!

Clogged toilet??
Drano works good.
Reply:Plungers are rubber. They don't ruin the bowl.
Reply:Plungers will cause less damage than chemicals (actually no damage). You may have moved the wax seal when you set the toilet and that is what is preventing the proper flushing.
Reply:you have to plunge it first...their is no way to avoid this..if you call a plummer then will use a snake and charge you 80 dollars...but you can always use a combination of vinegar and baking soda and hot hot boiling water and pour that down there...but really just plunge it
Reply:most ppl use a plunger the wrong way......... you are not trying to push that clog down.....put plunger in toilet (sounds nasty)

but put your other hand in the toilet hold plunger down and make good seal push it down and pull up hard ....you want to pull that clog up not pack it in
Reply:If it's just a clog in the toilet itself, the only sure way to fix it is to use the plunger. I can't see how a plunger would damage your toilet, though. There's no magic chemical that can remove the stuff that's clogging your toilet. You're actually going to have to physically remove the clog

However, it's possible that the problem is in your sewer line, rather than in the toilet itself.

Use the plunger first, and if that doesn't work, post another question!

Clogged problem?

our toilet is clogged, tried plunger tried snake, bathroom sink is slow too, could this be connected? me or my bf havent dropped anything down there, our son has never been in there? what cani do to fix this?

Clogged problem?
they are definitely connected
Reply:the snake don't work cause there's a snake living inside the tub and it's too shy to come out
Reply:This sounds like a problem in the vent. If the vent is obstructed it will slow the drains or even stop them. The vent is the black pipe on the roof. It can get clogged with leaves, birds can make nests in the pipe, or it can just get junk in it from when the wind blows. Check the vent pipe and clean it out of it's plugged up.
Reply:yes, sink will be connected to the toilet .... as far as the toilet, tried an auger ? this is specially used on toilets.....a 6ft. auger should reach thru the toilet trap onto the drain itself - as far as the sink , have you ran a cable thru it ? might be a case of two seperate issues...... worst case, if water comes up on the tub or shower, then your main house line is clogged......hope this helps

Large Pores Treatment - Home remedies

SUGAR SCRUB

Ingredients: 1 Tablesoon each of sugar, olive oil and honey.

Wet face, apply scrub by rubbing very gently in a circular motion. Remove with water with hands only.

EGG WHITE MASK

Mix 2 egg whites with a few drops of lemon juice. Apply on face and leave on for 5-7 minutes, then rinse with hands.

Note: As egg whites dry, they linghten the skin and pull debris out of pores. Lemon is a natural fruit acid which also helps to exfoliate.

Or you may try the following to treat large pores

1) Mix almond meal with enough water to make a paste. Apply to pores for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then apply withch hazel or a solution of apple cider vinegar and water.

2) Mix table salt and buttermilk into a paste, apply on enlarged pores and massage well. Rinse with warm water.

3) Add lemon juice and a little milk to oatmeal. Apply the paste and remove after 20 minutes with water. Do not use if there are eruptions.

Tips on reducing large pores

Stop using harsh toners or astringents on the affected areas. Using these products may have a very temporary 'tightening' effect on pores, but it's extremely short-lived. In fact, harsh astringents actually encourage oil glands to over-produce oil, leading to an increase in the size of pores.

Avoid putting moisturiser on the area as the skin produces quite enough moisture and oil on its own and doesn't need more.

Makeup tips to hide the appearance of large pores

Heavy foundations will draw attention to your large pores. So, stay with a sheer, light and oil free foundation.

Apply foundation, concealer, powder and blusher in a downward motion, otherwise you'll accentuate pores by pushing colour up and into them.

Steam your face weekly

=)
Reply:SWEAT! Exercising till you sweat is fundamental for a healthy skin.
Reply:open up you pores by boiling a pot of hot water and BEING VERY CAREFUL, put your face over it and with a towel to cover you head. do this for a bit, coming up for fresh air sometimes. as soon as you do, that wash you face with COLD water.

hope this helps!!

you can add heabs or somthing to the water for a good smell.
Reply:first get a washcloth and have the water as hot as your face can stand. wash your face with it. dry.

then squeeze the black heads out!!! your face will be a little bit red in the area where you squeezed them out. but will go away in a few minutes. then wash you face again.. do that before you go to bed... you dont want to put the makeup on after doing that. it will just clog them more.. good luck
