Clogged Toilet Holding up business?

I've got a problem. The toilet is clogged and the plunger worked for a little bit. But no longer does the job. I fear there is something in it since my friends toilet did the same thing and we removed G.I. Joe and a Hot Wheels from it. So how do I get the unwanted object out without tearing the toilet apart?.... Hanger wont work. I tried. ( I think I might need stitches) lol

you need what is called a closet auger.

It goes thru the trap and pulls what is clogging the toilet back out.

A Plunger will push the obstruction into the drain pipe, and if its a toy, your making problems worse.

Most tool rental places rent these.

If not call a plumber.

Your probably looking at $100 to $200 depending on where you live to have a plumber out.
Reply:Plumber's snake maybe. You can rent those.
Reply:We were having the same problem. In any case I had to had to call the plummer. dropped dogs toothbrush as it was being flushed. Besides the toothbrush in the stool, the wax ring was on it's last leg and the LIME buildup in the hole left about a 2" opening . Wow! They managed to get the toothbrush out without breaking the stool or having to replace it, but, they got the Lime out and things are really moving downstream now. The wax ring needs to be replaced every so often.

When is the last time it was changed?

Here is a DIY article, It's simple my daughter and I have done this before, not removing a an article though.

If you can do it you'll save $75 to $125.

If there is water slowly leaking around the base of your toilet, or you constantly smell a foul odor in your bathroom chances are the toilet wax ring has begun to fail and it is time for it to be replaced.

Replacing a toilet wax ring is easy to do and can be done by the do it yourself homeowner with a little knowledge and some preparation. Replacing a toilet wax ring can be done in about 1 hour assuming there are no extenuating circumstances.

Whole lot cheaper than the plumber.
Reply:if you have a toilet plunger (the black ones) and you pushed and pulled real fast on it and that did not do it, as a last ditch thing, you could get a wet vac and suck all the water out of the bowl and get a small mirror to look into the bend to see something. other than that, you have to pull up the toilet.
Reply:Fastest and easiest.......call a plumber! Good luck!
