Clogged computer fan?

Okay the fan on my parents' computer is clogged with dust and similar junk. Is there any way of removing it?

Clogged computer fan?
2 options:

Turn OFF the computer and use a vacuum cleaner to suck the dust out from the back.

Open the computer and blow the dirt out from the inside.

DO NOT use canned air and blow the crap inside the PC, if it settles on the processor chip it may cause overheating.
Reply:Just go buy a can of air duster (you can get a bottle in walmart, in the electronics area, for about 4 bucks; or radio shack, or kmart, etc).

If you're in-experianced with computers, then DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING INSIDE THE COMPUTER!! Otherwise, you might chance unplugging or breaking something.. since some computer parts 'are' pretty fragile.

- And MAKE SURE you unplug everything, ESPECIALLY THE POWER SUPPLY, before opening the computer!!

But you can unscrew the side panel (usually screwed on with 2 or 3 screws on the back) and carefully open it (NOTE: this may void your warranty if you still have one). But once it's opened, spray the fan, and anywhere else it's needed, with the air duster, until they're as clean as you can get'em. - After that, just put the side panel back on and plug it all back in, and go about your business. lol

Good luck. :)
Reply:Carefully remove it with a can of compressed air.

Seriously, it's not rocket science.

Reply:Use a compressed air can from a local store and blow on it but not very strong.

This site will probably help you:

However, if you don't know about computers, DO NOT open it unless you want to take the risk.
