Clogged arteries?

How do they check to see if you have clogged arteries?

Clogged arteries?
In addition to the answer shown above, you can have a Cardiac CT scan which will show plaque and calcium deposits in the coronary arteries. Above the CT scan is the Angiogram which is still the gold standard for detecting CAD.
Reply:If your arteries are in a state of clogging you will notice chest pains or angina when you exert yourself either walking quickly or climbing allot of stairs. This tells you your heart muscle cannot get the amount of oxygen it requires for the added work load you put on it. Usually it will show up in your cholesterol test(blood test). Smoking, High blood pressure, genetics, and high cholesterol are all factors which can lead to clogging arteries.
Reply:You mean all arteries?Well there are Non invasive and invasive methods to know which artery is blocked or clogged ! In non invasive technique they use ultra sound and do 3 dimensional color echo cardiography in case of coronary and color Doppler study in other vessels for to see the blood flow and direction and velocity and anatomical path if it is tortuous kinking etc ! Another way is thallium study under gamma camera where a radio opaque die is injected and vessel is seen on the monitor.Other way is ultra sono graphy is done to see the arteries and all know how ! In invasive technique they enter a catheter in side the vessel to see and than inject radio opaque die to visualize it for better understanding of the course of the artery ! This is called angiography! Now a day this is done even non invasive way by using color dopllar and macrosound as we use in sub marine !That is called CAORTOGRAPHY.Always YouRsmE
