Toilet clogged...help please?

When I flushed my toilet, it hesitated, but everything went down. Then it did not refill - only a little water, just BARELY covering the hole. Is it clogged? If so, what do I do?

Toilet clogged...help please?
Open the top of the tank and see how much water is in it.

When you flushed it, did the tank make the noise it usually makes when you flush it, which is water refilling in the tank?

Typically, most toilets only drain half the water in the back of the tank per flush, so as to conserve water. Sometimes the ball-cock or flotation device gets stuck or breaks, and the toilet doesn't refill.

If this is the case, lift up on the ball-cock or the lever on the floatation device, and it should cause the water to start refilling in the tank.

Also, if you go to flush it again, and nothing really happens, its out of water. If you flush it and the water starts getting dangerously close to overflowing, then you have a clog.

It probably is not a clog if the water is draining, as clogs result in backed up toilets.

I'm going to say its probably the ball-cock not right and the tank not filling up, but if nothing else, try the good old fashioned plumber's plunger lol.
Reply:try using a plunger.check your outher sinks kitchen bathroom etc. see if they are all draining good . might need liquid plummer.try water preasure or maybe in the back of your toilet needs attention take cover off and flush see if it is all working proper filling up etc.
Reply:If it flushed, the clog is gone, moved on down. Flush it again and it should refill.
Reply:call a plumber or get a plunger or snake and do it yourself.
Reply:If you have a plunger (plumbers friend), try to unclog it with the plunger. You may have to pout some more water into the toilet. Don't flush it again-it may overflow. Add the water to the bowl with a bucket or trash can. Fill- plunger it- it should go down. If you don't have a plunger-get one- and keep it.
