Sinus passages clogged...?

I tend to get sinus problems. The last couple of months, I have been getting the passages between the back of my throat and sinuses clogged. They unclog periodically and when they do they form hard mucus in the shape of my sinus passage. The last one was really big compared to where it's coming from. Is this normal? And what could be causing it?

Thanks!

Sinus passages clogged...?
My doctor told me to take Mucinex %26amp; use Simply Saline. You can get both at Walmart or any drug store. The Simply Saline is used to wash out your nasal passages. You will feel great relief with just one use of it because it unclogs the passages.Good luck.
Reply:I'd suggest taking a decongestant like Sudafed (the generic is fine); you may also need to use a vaporizer/humidifier. In addition, drinking more water can help keep your mucus membranes moist. It's also possible that you may be mildly allergic to something, so an antihistime such as Claritin might be useful.
Reply:Switching from mucus generating dairy products and red meat to soy milk and white meat would help. Fish is better than chicken.
Reply:try Claritin-D and using a humidifier. if there's no relief, see your doc.
