My toilet is clogged! When i flush the water rises like it will over flow then slowy drains only half way down. I've flushed it around 8 times and the same thing always happens. How can i fix it myself? Plunger not working very well.
Oh and I know for a fact that there are not unnatural items in there so...

Try getting a bucket of very hot water from the tap in your tub and pour it into the toilet. I think it helps disolve the clog. My husband laughed at me the other night when I suggested he do this...but it worked! I have never cleared a clogged toilet with a plunger....the bucket of hot water works every time for organics.

Reply:If the first 2 excellent solutions mentioned don't work..Go borrow a neighbors plunger!!!! Once your clog is done then wash the plunger well with dish soap and water, rinse ans dry with paper towels..Thank the neighbor too for helping...Good luck
Reply:Everybody's a plumber, toilet auger, hardware store, rotate slowly through the fixture several times.
Reply:Sounds like the vent pipe is clogged. Get up on the roof and run a snake all the way down as far as it will go or shove a garden hose down the vent while it's on full blast. My favorite is the garden hose. This has worked well for me many times in the past.
Reply:Try your plunger again but instead of trying to force the clog forward, try to pull it back. To do this, push the plunger down slowly, then pull up sharply so you create a vacuum instead of a pressure. It will probably break the clog up so it will go on down or it will pull the clog back into the toilet where it can be broken apart or removed.
If that fails you will need to run a snake down the toilet or call a plumber to do it for you.
