Clogged ear..freaking out!!!?

I'm a bit of a hypochondriac, and tonight all of a sudden I got a bad clogged ear! This has happened a few times when i woke up but goes away really fast. As I said before I'm a bit of a hypochondriac so my immediate response is 'I NEED TO GO TO THE DOCTOR', but due to certain curcumstances, I can't. Please help!! D:

Clogged ear..freaking out!!!?
WOW

I though i was the only hypochondriac in this world.

Well Sweetie I am sure it will go away if it clogged you could always try over the counter ear drops
Reply:Try hydrogen peroxide. Stand facing the bathroom sink, bend your head down at a right angle, then turn it so that the clogged ear is up. Slowly pour a tiny trickle of hydrogen peroxide into the ear. You will hear it fizzing, and feel it as it works its way deeper. Add hydrogen peroxide until the ear canal feels full. When you feel it pooling on your eardrum, wait a few more seconds, then slowly turn your head the other way, until the stuffed ear is down, and wait, and you should feel the hydrogen peroxide and wax sliding out of your ear and into the sink, and you will suddenly be able to hear well.Clean the mess from your OUTER ear with a cotton swab.

If it doesn't look like wax, but like pus instead, call the doctor, it's an INFECTION.
Reply:You need a psychiatrist. Do see one immediately. There are a few good ones at Mount E Center.
Reply:Hmm, I tend to have a lot of ear problems so I'm familiar with situations like that. It sounds like your ear is infected. Don't worry, it's not that serious. It'll eventually go away on its own, although it could be uncomfortable and would take a while. You should still try to visit the doctor, he or she will prescribe the right antibiotics or ear drops which would make the problem go away much faster and safer.
Reply:once i cleaned out my ears with the q-tip a bit too deep and i lost hearing in one hear and it buzzed for a little over a day. i thought for sure i popped my ear drum and i was deaf. not true. a lot of the time its just ear wax build up. what you can do is to heat up a little bit of veg. or olive oil and put it in your ear, this might help. taking a hot shower, or sleeping on that ear. hope this helped! also, its probably not serious at all, let it run its course, dont freak out!
Reply:Last summer i had a bad ear infection and the doctor put a 'wick' in my ear and i had to put eardrops in 3 times a day. the wick would expand and clean out my ear. i was deaf out of that ear for over 2 weeks. and in the end the wick is supposed to fall out on its own. but it turns out i had a small hole in my eardrum and the wick got caught in it and thats why it never came out. it was real bad, and they had to do this because i just thought i had wax clogging my ear! i hate the doctor..
Reply:Don't panic! The fact that it happened all of a sudden and goes away fast tells me that it's probably not hard wax clogging your ear canal. This is temporary. In medical terms you probably have otitis media with effusion. You have some fluid behind your eardrum which is making it so the eardrum can't vibrate and send the signals to your brain to make you "hear". It will eventually resolve but might take several days to a week or more depending on the severity. You will probably hear some crackling and popping in your ear. This is normal too and is a sign that your ear is getting better. IF you start to feel SEVERE pain or get a high fever you might need to see a doctor for some antibiotics, but most of these types of ear infections are viral and will go away by themselves. Sometimes your ear can feel clogged and pop (like when you go on an airplane). This is just your middle ear equalizing the pressure with the outer ear through the tiny Eustachian tube that is connected through the throat to the middle ear.
